Dear Language Snaps,
I am a 40-year-old man who is stuck in a rut. I can tell you exactly what I will do tomorrow morning. I will wake up at 7am, read the newspaper and get ready for work. I know exactly what I will do because I have had the same job and routine for over 15 years. I love to work, and I really do love my company, but every day I work with the same group of people and the same type of work. Sure, the assignments change every once in a while, but they could all be the same for all I care these days. I want my life to be exciting again. In fact, I would do anything to make my life exciting again. What should I do?
Yours Truly,
Rut
Dear Rut,
Hang in there! It’s not an easy situation that you’re in. You feel as though you are living the same day over and over again. This is what you should do: Find what makes you happy. Would traveling make you happy? Would writing a book make you happy? You will find happiness from doing what you really want to do with your life. You’re not happy at work, so you should quit working. You could continue with your life the way it is now, or you could chase happiness. The choice is yours.
Best,
Language Snaps
