Several countries, including the U.S., Canada, and Australia, will be celebrating Mother’s Day this coming Sunday. The holiday celebrates motherhood as people reflect on the women who have shaped their lives. For many, it’s a day to celebrate not only one’s ‘mom,’ but also any grandmas, aunties, and family friends who’ve contributed to their care.

It’s also a day to reflect on the meaning of other motherhood, and what it is like to be or act like a mother to someone. In this TED Talk, Yifat Susskind proposes that “thinking like a Mother” could solve many societal problems. Listen to her speech below to find out what she means by this statement.
