Rebecca and Santiago are sitting next to each other on the first day of the semester.
Rebecca: Hi, I’m Rebecca.
Santiago: Hey, I’m Santiago. Nice to meet you.
Rebecca: Nice to meet you, too. Have you taken a class with Professor Matson before?
Santiago: No, I haven’t, but I’ve heard really great things from other students.
Rebecca: So have I. My friend told me that the exams are difficult, but that if you read for class and take notes during the lectures you’ll be okay.
Santiago: That’s great. Are you taking a lot of classes this semester?
Rebecca: Ya, I’m taking a full 18 credits. I think it will be a stressful semester.
Santiago: Oh, wow! I’ve taken 18 credits before and I was always at the library. I’m only taking 9 credits this semester.
Rebecca: Well, that part I like! I’m a bit of a bookworm actually. Oh! I think class is about to start.
Santiago: You’re right. We’ll keep talking after.
